Can I be subjected to the denial of Canadian visa? – What are the grounds for visa refusal?

When you are planning to get into Canada there are several rules that you need to take into account.   3. You are a senior official in a government which is engaged in gross human rights violation and/or is subject to international sanctions.

 For reasons related to medical conditions

There are several medical conditions that your visa officer will look into before giving you a visa. They are

  1. If you are a carrier of any communicable disease like Ebola, swine flu, malaria, small pox, etc. you may be denied entry as you will pose a danger to the public health and safety.
  2. Excessive demand for health and social services is also a cause on which your visa may be denied. Immigration officers will judge whether you are an “excessive demand” candidate based on the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, where the term is defined. Basically, any patient whose medical condition and treatment will make a huge drain on the Canadian health care system is denied entry into Canada.

For reasons that cover varied subjects

Apart from the one provided above, there are several scenarios based on which you maybe subjected to the denial of Canadian visa

  1. If you commit a serious crime that would be punishable by a maximum prison term of at least 10 years in Canada.
  2. If you were convicted of a crime that includes driving while drunk or under drugs.
  3. If you are unable or unwilling to support yourself or your family.
  4. If you misrepresent yourself by providing false information or withholding any information that is deemed important under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  5. If you fail to comply with any provisions of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  6. If you have a family member who is inadmissible.
