One of the employees, Martin de la Rosa, a former floor supervisor at Agriprocessors also asked the judge who has been assigned her case to rescue her because she is not impartial.

It should be noted that attorneys of Rosa Loera and Juan Carlos Guerrero-Espinoza filed their claims in the federal court this week. Both of them were at the post of supervisor at Agriprocessors, the nation’s largest kosher meatpacking plant and the site of the immigration raid on May 12 that accounted for the arrest for more than 400 workers.

Bob Teig, US Attorney’s Office spokesman said that his office will not comment on pending motions, but he said that they will soon file a response in the court. In order to change the venue from a federal court in Cedar Rapids, lawyers for Guerrero-Espinoza wrote that news media outlets saw these events as significant and seized on them with their total energy.

The request by Rosa-Loera’s lawyers to replace the judge assigned to this case is due Reade’s role in a series of trials completed recently for the workers who were arrested during the raid. After the raid, during the trials held, 297 of the 389 people who were arrested were pleaded guilty in a span of only on week.

Both Guerrero-Espinoza and Rosa-Loera are charged for encouraging the entrance of illegal immigrants into the United States by making use of fraudulent identifications. They have also been charged with encouraging and supporting identity theft.
