New Zealand Visa

What is the current situation of Canadian Visa's for New Zealanders??? Word is that they are looking at changing it! I have nearly completed my 1 year in Canada, I am hoping it will be changed so i can come back to Canada and spend another 12 months here, or longer! It would be great if they changed it to be the same as the Australian visa, 2 years with the option of renewing! Cheers
