India e-tourist Visa Scheme Extended to 31 More Nations
India, 2nd May: India has added 31 additional nations to its e-tourist visa scheme.
From 1st May, 2015, India has extended its e-tourist visa facility to 31 additional nations.
e-tourist visas from 1st May: The government of India has announced extension of its e-tourist visa program to around 31 more nations. India has recently added Canada, France and 29 more nations to its e-tourist visa program.

So, now, the e-tourist visa scheme has 76 nations on its list.
Simplified Visas now for foreign travellers—Foreign travellers can now look forward to simplified visa system, thanks to e-tourist visa facility. This includes foreign travellers wanting to come to India for short business visit, for meeting relatives or friends, for sightseeing or for medical treatment.

These are Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Barbados, Bahamas, Bolivia, Belize, Cayman Island, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominic an Republic, Dominica, Ecuador, El, Salvador, Estonia, France, Georgia, Grenada, HolySee(Vatican), Haiti, Honduras, Lithuania, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Macedonia, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Paraguay, St. Kitts & Nevis and Seychelles.
76 nations now under India e-tourist Scheme—So now, India e-tourist visas will be available for nationals from 76 countries. India e-tourist visa scheme was launched on 27th November, 2014 for 45 nations from 9 designation Indian airports initially.
Now, the number of nations to benefit from e-tourist visas will be 76. The extension of e-tourist visa scheme is being done in phases by India.
It is being maintained that India will be extending this e-tourist visa scheme to 150 nations the end of the current financial year.
How will it benefit foreigners from 76 nations?—Well, foreigners from 76 nations covered under e-tourist visa scheme will be able to apply for an India visa online from his or her own nation. There will be no need of making a visit to Indian Mission for India visa application. Fee for e-tourist visas can be paid online.
An applicant will be forwarded an email giving an authorization to travel to India. A printout of this authorization should be carried along by the applicant for visiting India. The applicant shall show this authorization printout to immigration officials for getting stamped for entry.
Nearly 110,000 e-tourist visas have been issued till date by Indian government.
