Canada Allows Stay Of Temporary Residents Under Conditions

As a rule, most of the temporary residents in the country including work and study permit holders who have already submitted their application for renewal of their status can continue their stay in Canada. But they will have to follow their original status until the Canadian immigration department makes any decision on their application.

In the case, the Canadian government approves the application a foreign national can continue studying or working as implied by the new permit visa.
