Scoring Scale for CELPIP Test is between 1 to 12 for each sub component i.e. Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

In case of CELPIP, fewer preparation resources are available and has limited test centers which are mainly in Canada and select international locations

IELTS, on other hand has extensive preparation materials and a has wide network of test centers worldwide.

Both CELPIP and IELTS are equally accepted for Canadian immigration purposes. You may choose CELPIP if you are comfortable with computers, are currently in Canada and prefer Canadian-style questions and accents.

If you are taking the test outside Canada and prefer paper-based tests or speaking to a real person, it will be good to chose IELTS and may later use the test results for study or migration to other countries as well.
