Why Do You Need Educational Credential Assessments (ECAs) Under Express Entry?
Express Entry, being one of the most popular immigration pathways to settle in Canada, has some basic requirements to determine the eligibility of the candidate. One of these requirements is the Educational Credential Assessments (ECAs) which every prospective newcomer submits to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This assessment is to decide the equivalency of the candidate’s educational qualifications that are acquired in a foreign country. The credentials include all kinds of educational documents like certificates, degrees, diplomas, and many more.
As mentioned, ECAs are crucial for someone to land a job and settle in the country. It might take some time to complete the whole process. WES, as one of five major organizations approved by IRCC to evaluate the educational documents of the candidates, can provide ECAs within 35 days of receiving and approving your documents and proof of payment for the same.
An ECA report provided by WES will remain valid five years after its issuance. Moreover, in order to expand its validity, one can order an additional copy of the report through the online WES account, which will add 5 years to the validity of the same report. At the same time, one can update the ECA report per their needs.
