British Columbia and Manitoba recently issued invitations to candidates for applying the current draws of the provincial nominee program (PNP). Unlike Quebec, most of the provinces in Canada use their own PNPs for issuing invitations to suitable applicants. With a provincial nomination, one can easily get to the next step of receiving permanent residency status.

Each year 105,000 PR admissions occur through PNP applications. Launched in 1998, it has been one of the most efficient tools for the economic growth of the Canadian community and the economy beyond its busy cities.

In the first general draw of this year, British Columbia issued 163 invitations to apply for interested candidates. Candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories must have a minimum of 105 on the SIRS score. On the other hand, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled candidates are required to have an 82 SIRS score.
In the case of the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program, 280 invitations to apply were issued. Whereas the SIRS score is particular for British Columbia, Manitoba has its own scoring method according to its criteria where Skilled Workers require a minimum score of 750.
