How Canadians Can Sponsor Their Spouse to Canada?

The IRCC allows the citizens of Canada to apply for sponsoring their spouses, dependent children, marital partners, and partners of common-law from out of the country. Any Canadian who is waiting to get back to the country along with the spouse is allowed to start the process of sponsorship from anywhere.

However, they will have to prove that they wish to move back to the country once their sponsored family member has become a permanent resident.

The proof of their certainly moving back to Canada will depend upon the personal situation and reason as to why they would return. For instance, if the reason to move back is work or job, then the sponsorship application would be supported with a document showing confirmation of the same. If the applicants have bought land, a document of title can be attached. If the couple is looking for good schools or daycares, a document supporting their search will help. Each case will be different from the other and the final decision always depends on the visa officer who would review the file.

It is to be noted that permanent residents are not allowed to sponsor their spouse from abroad and only residents with citizenship status can do so. The new plans call for 80000 family members for sponsorship every year for the next three years. The aim is to process new spousal sponsorship applications every year.

Inland / Outland Sponsorship for Sponsoring Spouse by Canadians:

The application can be either through inland sponsorship or outland sponsorship. Canadians living outside Canada are eligible for sponsorship application under the outland sponsorship until the couple intends to move back to Canada.

If the applicants are living in Canada, then they can either opt for inland or outland sponsorship. But only the applicants living inside will be eligible for getting permission for openwork, with which they will be able to work in Canada while they are waiting for the finalization of their application. Although the applicants shall have the visa for a visitor as an official temporary status, to be eligible to get the work permit.
