That is because if Trump comes true on his promise, this could lead to bar on students overseas to re-enter the US, administrators allege.

The California State University’s Office of Chancellor has suggested administrators to inform DACA recipients presently studying abroad to return to the US before Trump’s inauguration. This has been stated in a letter sent to each of 23 campuses of the California State University’s office of Chancellor.

Undocumented Students Fear the Worst After Trump’s Win

Its quite likely that DACA students, as of January 20, 2017, shall not be allowed to re-enter the US, the letter informs.

The letter further advises DACA students planning to study abroad next year to think before doing so. This was revealed by Pat Harris, the university spokesperson. Students must be aware of the reality of the US law, added Harris.

Advisers working to spread awareness of implications of leaving the US—Advisers at nine campuses of the University of California’s Office of the President are working with students taking part in its Education Abroad Program to ensure they have awareness of impact of leaving the US. The program shall waive withdrawal fee for DACA students cancelling plans to study overseas. This was revealed by spokesperson Claire Doan.

DACA—The DACA(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program was established in 2012 by US President Barack Obama. This gives temporary deportation relief to young people brought to the US unlawfully as children. Around one third of the total 742,000 Dreamers are living in California.

A total of 1.3 million undocumented immigrants have received deferred action, reveals the USCIS( US Citizenship and Immigration Services). This also includes nearly 526,000 having received approved renewals.
