Canada’s steps towards newcomer integration

Canada, 19th December: Canada has been quite successful in integrating newcomers into Canada society and Canada’s way of life.

And the onus must go to different Canada immigration programs.

Canada immigration programs helping in immigrant integration—Immigrant integration is one of the main motives of Canada immigration. And it will be quite appropriate to say that different immigration programs of Canada have played their role in successful integration of newcomers in Canada.

Canada has a high ranking in terms of enabling newcomers make a smooth transition to live and work in a new nation. And this has been possible through a range of changes introduced in Canada immigration programs for attracting the candidates with increased probability of getting established in Canada.

Newcomers are key to Canada and recognizing this fact, Canada government makes sincere efforts to facilitate their settlement and integration at the earliest.

Canada Federal Skilled Trades Class—Also known as FSTC, this immigration program targets foreigners possessing trade skills in high demand in Canada. It will become effective from 2nd January, 2013.

The immigration program requires applicants, among other factors, to possess a minimum of 24 months work experience in the period of last 5 years for getting a job in Canada.

Federal Skilled Worker Class-FSWC (Federal Skilled Worker Class) requires applicants to get their foreign credentials pre-assessed before their arrival in Canada. This requirement, among several others, is to make sure only those are allowed entry through this immigration stream who will be able to find jobs in their chosen field of expertise in Canada at the earliest.

Canada funding for newcomer settlement services—Canada government works to help in successful settlement of newcomers in Canada by making investments from time to time. Recently, Canadian government announced a funding of $1 million for immigrant settlement in Yukon.

Giving details about the funds, Member of Parliament for Yukon, Ryan Leef, said the federal government remains committed to assuring integration of newcomers to make them reach their optimum potential and benefit the Canadian economy.

Similarly, an investment to the tune of $50,000 by Ontario is aimed to offer newcomers a warm welcome and help them settle permanently in Canada.
