Hundreds of Indians on US student visas might be sent back

Crackdown by ICE officials—

The immigration authorities allege a huge immigration fraud in Tri-Valley University in Pleasanton, a suburb in San Francisco Bay Area.

It’s being alleged by the US ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers that the president and the founder of the university, Dr. Susan Xiao-Ping Su, was issuing a US study visa to any foreigner and his main aim was to misuse US visa permits.

Foreign students’ involvment alleged–

The University has been shut down nearly a week ago has been assisting foreign citizens to gain US immigration status using illegal means. Around 1,555 students were on rolls of the university out of which around 95 percent students were Indians, the complaint maintains.

During the investigations led by a team of ICE officials, it was found that the students enrolled in different online as well as residential study courses of the university were not living in California and were found to be working illegally in different parts of the US like Texas, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

The court documents reveal that around 50 percent of foreigners studying in this university were sharing a single house in Sunnyvale California.

The University had given fake residential addresses of the foreign students on its rolls in order to hide the fact that they were not living in California.

Any foreign or immigrant student must submit proof of the fact that he is making all the required efforts for finishing the study coursework and attending the study classes physically. The US investigating officials are searching all those foreign students who had allegedly deposited huge sums of money in a bid to get US student work permits and US study visas through illegal means.
