United States, 28th April: High skilled professionals from different nations are either already working overseas or are willing to do so in the coming times to enhance their career prospects.
This has been revealed by the new report – 2010 Hydrogen Global Professionals on the Move Report.
As per the report, around 23 percent of top tech (technology) professionals have expressed their desire to look for jobs in the US while the number of professionals wanting to move to Australia and the UK happens to be 16 percent and 12 percent respectively.
The survey was conducted by a consultancy project team(from ESCP Europe business school) for Hydrogen Group, a recruitment firm.
Nearly 3155 professionals including mid level and senior level professionals from various corners of the world formed part of the survey.
All of these high skilled professionals possessed at least one professional degree while nearly half hold postgraduate degrees like MBA. These professionals are earning nearly $125,000(equivalent to £80,800) as their average salary currently.
The latest survey provides an insight into the changing mindsets and motivations of high skilled professionals especially in a highly competitive world throttled by global economic crisis. The report also highlights that preference for any nation by high skilled professionals is not in accordance with the recruitment demand.
Nearly 34 percent of women were found to be already working overseas while the percentage of men already working abroad was a bit low at 26 percent, the survey revealed.
The report clearly maintained that the reason cited for working overseas by all professional participants in the survey was to improve their current job prospects and not to escape recession.
Moreover, majority of professionals want to move abroad not on permanent basis but for temporary periods. 64 percent professionals expressed their desire to move abroad for a period of up to five years in search of better jobs.
Among other nations in the list of top 10 favored nations named by high tech professionals include France, Canada, Switzerland, UAE(United Arab Emirates), Singapore, New Zealand and Germany.
