John Baby Muthaiyan, 27, who works as a part-time salesman at a cold storage unit was tied up, beaten and blindfolded by three Indians and two Bahrainis, reported the Gulf Daily News.

Muthaiyan alleged that the men threatened to kill him if he didn’t tell them where they could find his friend Justin Jose.

“While I was working at the cold store last week, an Indian man took me outside saying he needed to speak to me personally. One of the men told me he was from the construction company that employed my friend, but he had run away and that they were looking for him,” said Muthaiyan.

“Even though I knew where he stayed because he was my friend, I told them that I didn’t know his whereabouts.

“The men surrounded me and before I realised what was happening, my hands were tied and my eyes blindfolded and I was pushed into a car. In the car they kept on punching and hitting me continuously,” he said.

He added that he succumbed and told them where Jose stayed.

The men fled after dropping Muthaiyan.

The Indian worker said he was too bruised and ill after the incident and didn’t leave his room until Monday to report the matter to the Indian embassy and the local police.
