When the names of JD or Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia are heard, one can well associate the duo with Hats Off Production. Yes, I am talking about the people behind Star Tv’s TRP toppers ‘Khichdi’, ‘Instant Khichdi’ and the serious family drama ‘Baa Bahu Aur Baby’.
The duo is all set with a new daily soap on Star One. Come August 19 and ‘Resham Dankh’ will be on air, which will come every Monday to Thursday at 9:30 pm. The newfangled show is based on Aatish’s novel of the same name.
The show will supersede ‘Heartbeat’, which will take a new time slot. ‘Resham Dankh’ is bragged to be a social family drama with all the ingredients including emotions in the right quantities. The story revolves around a wonder child who changes a family’s life.
The show also has a vast star cast. It stars Sumit Raghavan, Raahil Azam, Moulli Ganguli, Apara Mehta, Punit Vashisht, Disha Vakani, Dimple Shah, Rajiv Mehta, Sulbha Deshpandey, and Manva Naik. The character of the six year old kid who has a pivot role in the serial is played by newcomer Yash Bhadrani. He was selected after a huge round of auditions.
Majethia said that they were discussing a couple of ideas with Star senior creative director Shailaja and she wanted them to take up a comfortable story and when they discussed Resham Dankh with her, she loved it. He also said that they have changed the screenplay and characters to a great extend so that it does not become draggy for the people who have already read the novel. He also said that the serial has a machinating factor which will keep the viewers hooked on to the serial every day.
Aatish Kapadia’s novel is about a child who works as a catalyst for the whole family. The same theme runs in the serial as well. An expert at comedy, Aatish is experimenting with a new genre other than comedy. However, he has written beyond comedy in the past as well. ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka’ and ‘Alpaviram’ are his other hit serials.
With the new show, Hats Off will have a tight grip on the 9:30 slots through the week on the Star TV network ‘Resham Dankh’ will be aired from Monday to Thursday at 9:30 pm whereas ‘Baa Bahu Aur Baby already airs Friday to Sunday on Star Plus at 9:30pm.
