In a fatal accident, a woman taking driving lessons ran over two persons killing them on the spot in Mahim, near Mumbai, today (Thursday).
The victims were walking on the pathway early this morning when the Opel Astra car suddenly hit them, killing the duo on the spot, police said. The identity of the victims was not established, so far.
While the woman, who was at the steering wheel, was taken into custody and one more person who was also in the car, was being taken in for questioning.
The two have been booked for negligent driving, police revealed, adding that the bodies of victims have been sent to Sion hospital for post-mortem.
The name of the woman driving the Opel Astra is Asma Sudhir Mada, she is a practicing clinical psychologist. The woman resides in Juhu and her family is based in Oman.
