New visa scheme to attract entrepreneurs and investment

Officials of Canadian immigration in Saskatchewan are launching a new scheme that would be aimed to attract foreign entrepreneurs to the region in order to benefit business and employment.

As a part of the new strategy on immigration, the plan would launch new business immigration streams. The strategy would primarily focus on attracting investment and entrepreneurs who are willing to begin new firms in Saskatchewan, and thus providing jobs to local people.

Rob Norris, the minister of advanced education, employment and labor, who also takes care of immigration in the region, said that the new immigration initiative recognizes the importance of significance of entrepreneurship via building bridges between prospective residents of the region, the industries and the businesses that would gain from the skills and investment.

As per the new plan, nominations of two hundred and fifty immigrants would be made under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program’s entrepreneurship category, for a period of two years. This, according to Norris, would create somewhere around nine hundred new jobs in the region.

Norris said at the beginning of this month that he thinks that the province of Saskatchewan would grant as somewhere around ten-thousand new Canadian visas through the nominee program of the province, in a period of twelve to eighteen months. Speaking exclusively on the impact of new arrivals, he said that they are bringing to the region new ideas, new networks and new knowledge, and that these people help strengthen the communities in the region.
