Indian Hockey Falters Again

CHANDIGARH,FEB19:Still elusive of a win in the series there seems to be no change to India’s fortunes. India faced yet another defeat ,this time by a 3-1 margin.

Though it was a different story this time with Pakistan being under pressure for better part of the match but were lucky to escape triumphant. Even a better display of skills and some outstanding performance in patches on Saturday did not favor the Indians in their endeavor to level the series.

The first half of the match which remained goalless provided some exciting moments. The Indians seemed to be a determined lot when they took the field and seemed to be in good form but poor finishes proved the bane yet again.

Rehan scored a magical goal just six minutes into the second half. In the 45th minute Sandeep Singh made his brief presence felt with an awesome drag-flick to the fullest effort to level the score.

It finally seemed that Indian hockey had come back with a bang. The attacking Indians left the Pakistanis completely clueless but fortune favored the visitors as Aziz slammed the home in the 60th minute. The shattered Indians lost all zeal and gave away another goal just two minutes before the end of the second half.

The visitors now have a 2-0 lead in the series. But the Indians hope to play well in the remaining matches and are determined to turn their efforts into spectacular wins.
