Sean Connery’s Operation, A Success

[inline:1]Sir Sean Connery’s operation to remove a tumour from his kidney has been reported a success. A team of specialists operated upon him at a private hospital in New York a few weeks ago.

Sir Sean Connery said he “had been opened up in five places”.

He added the operation – a secret to all but his family and close friends – had been a success.

And he insisted he would be fit to play a starring role in the Tartan Day celebrations in New York next month.

Sir Sean’s brother Neil said: “As far as I’m led to believe the tumour was benign. He seems quite upbeat”.

Connery, 75, an actor and an ardent Scottish nationalist, is scheduled to record a voiceover for a political program for the pro-independence Scottish National Party. He also plans to attend Tartan Day festivities in New York in April, party leader Alex Salmond said
