If you are longing to move to Canada and build your life, you must be aware of Canada’s Express Entry system. It is the most popular and the fastest means to immigrate to Canada. Earlier you just had to submit the application, get the CRS score and wait for the invitation to apply for the status of permanent residency. 

CRS is the Comprehensive Ranking System score, which has an average cut-off score of 461 ranging from 438-475. The CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) uses the CRS score to determine how the candidate ranks in the Express Entry draw pool.

The criteria based on which your Express Entry profile gets assessed is – Language ability, Skills, Education, Work Experience, etc. Points are given for each category and then totalled to calculate the CRS score. 

CRS Score Breakdown

When you apply for a permanent residence in Canada through the Express Entry system. You can apply via one of the following programs and each program has its own criteria:

There is a lot of competition in the Express Entry system, so you must achieve a higher CRS score so that your chances of receiving an ITAs for Canadian permanent residency are also higher.

The CRS cut-off score will get released every two weeks after the Express Entry draw has taken place. It will be a different score for every draw and higher the average cut-off scores in the pool, the higher the CRS cut-off score. 

CRS Points Calculation

You can score a maximum of 1200 CRS points and you can score these points in two categories:

 

 

You will achieve Core points for – Experience and skills factors, skills transferability, and spouse or common-law partner factors.

 

 

You will achieve Additional points for a valid job offer, Canadian degrees/certificates/diplomas, nomination from a territory or a province, superb French language skills, brother or sister living in Canada.
