Sir Ranulph Fiennes is indeed the Greatest Living Explorer in the World. He has spent 40 years of his life breaking various world records, discovering numerous lost cities, and has led legendary expeditions that are worthy of all the praise and accolades. His Early Life

After living in South Africa during his childhood years, Ranulph was back to the UK and intended to follow his father’s tracks into the regiment of Royal Scots Grey, and the British Army had its youngest captain -Ranulph Fiennes.

The Mindblowing Adventures

His adventures started while leading the Jostedalsbreen Glacier Expedition (in 1967 & 1970) as well as the British Expedition on a hovercraft up the White Nile (1969). He was leading the Transglobe Expedition (between 1979-82) with first wife Ginny. As of today, he is the only person alive who has travelled around the circumpolar surface of the Earth.

Many of his fearless feats are the North Pole Russian Expedition in the year 1990, the discovery of Ubar, a lost city, on Yemeni border in 1991; and another exceptional feat of 7 Marathons in 7 Days on 7 Continents (he completed this in the year 2003 despite being on recovery from a heart attack). He is the only person to have received the double clasp medal to the Polar award from the Queen, which acknowledges his Arctic as well as Antarctic achievements.

Through his adventures, Ranulph Fiennes has raised millions for different charities, and this has earned him the OBE for Human Endeavour & Charitable Services. He was the first-ever to have summited Everest as well as cross both the polar ice caps in the year 2009. He was 65 years and made £6.2 million for Marie Curie.

He also competed in the ultra-marathon – Marathon de Sables and the trek was via the hot Saharan Desert. He completed156 miles in only six days and was able to raise a lot of funds for Marie Curie, who is quite close to him because he lost his first wife to stomach cancer in the year 2003.
