Punjab man travels across 11 nations in one month to illegally enter the US, deported

In order to get US citizenship an Indian named Harpreet Singh, a resident of Punjab traveled 11 nations in one month, now deported. After being interrogated he revealed that he arrived in Bolivia via Brazil, he contacted some of its travel agents back in Punjab. Harpreet Singh who is being deported from the US, first sneaked to the US to get the US citizenship, as claimed by the Police officials. Now it is all over the news, Punjab man travels across 11 nations in one month to illegally enter the US, deported.

An Indian, Harpreet Singh resident of Kapurthala district of Punjab, traveled 11 nations covering Central America from Brazil to Mexico, the total being 10,000 km and that too in a month only to get settled in the US illegally in 2016. After being accused of illegal staying, US police deported him back to New Delhi. Harpreet Singh reached at Indira Gandhi International Airport by United Airlines UA82 on this Saturday and immigration department handed him over to Delhi police.

Enroute Central America- Brazil to Mexico in one month

Harpreet journey to this illegal route begins on August 20, 2016, with a valid passport he took flight ET887 from the IGI Airport to Brazil.  Interrogation revealed that after reaching Bolivia, with his some contacts back in Punjab he somehow managed to get assistance to travel by road to the north part of the US. In the north, his first destination was Lima, Peru and he didn’t stop there after crossing Ecuador, Columbia, and Panama he reached Costa Rica. The final destination of his is Mexico via Honduras and Guatemala. He illegal entered the US from Mexico by a boat.

15 months of survival in the US

Harpreet Singh also revealed to Deputy commissioner of police (IGI Airport) Sanjay Bhatia that an agent of Jalandhar in Punjab named Rana, who arranged a fake passport for him, after his original passport being snatched some miscreants during his journey. Police further added that of his stay of 15 months, Harpreet Singh used to work at a department store in the US state of Louisiana.

DCP of police Sanjay Bhatia further assured that a case has been registered under different sections such 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document or electronic record as genuine) and passport act.
