Several experts say Canada’s border may seem as an easy target as Trump cracks down on undocumented immigrants in the US. Donald has vowed tough stance on unlawful US immigration recently.
Canada may seem as an easy option for many—Trump has pledged to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the US soon. No wonder, in such a scenario, many would look towards Canada as an easy option.
Consider, for instance, the case of Mexicans. They have been living in the US for quite a long time. And they have got used to a higher standard of living in the US. so, once they begin feeling the heat from US officials, they may decide to sneak into Canada unlawfully. Trump has been reiterating that he plans to deport nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants from the US. He plans to focus his priority on criminals, gang members, drug dealers and others having criminal records. These account nearly 3 million in the US.
People sneak into Canada through several ways. It could be by boat from abroad, crossing the border on foot or swimming across rivers from America. Nearly 487 people tried to enter Canada unlawfully in the year 2011. This was revealed by a binational report obtained by Canadian Press.
In addition, many come to Canada unlawfully on the pretext of visiting but they never leave Canada. Canada has a huge figure of such unlawful immigrants living there.
Mexicans wont need a visa to Visit Canada—Believe it or not, but it is true. Mexicans will not need any visa for visiting Canada. This is due to a latest ruling by Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in June this year. The new ruling shall become effective from 1st December, 2016.
The ruling could result in increased number of Mexican citizens wanting to enter Canada.
