Newfoundland and Labrador to Offer Express Entry for Skilled Immigrants

Canada, 12th October: Canada province Newfoundland and Labrador will be offering Express Entry to skilled immigrants.

This has been announced by the provincial government under a latest proposal to attract increased skilled immigrants.

Express Entry into N.L. for skilled immigrants—Are you a foreigner having skills wanting to move to N.L.? Well, this is the right time to do so under Express Entry. Premier Paul Davis has recently announced this latest scheme for skilled immigrants.

A new express entry skilled worker category shall be offering skilled immigrants a fast-tracked entry to Newfoundland and Labrador for filling up jobs not getting filled up locally.

The announcement was made by Premier Davis in St. John’s.

N.L. will offering skilled immigrants an opportunity to come here under Express Entry from now onwards.

Faster immigration for skilled immigrants to N.L.—Skilled immigrants shall be offered fast track immigration under express entry skilled worker category by N.L. soon. Under the new category, total number of applications to be accepted each year shall be 550 apart from the annual 500 nominations under N.L. provincial nominee program.

Its really important to grow this province, said Davis, by increasing the total immigrants coming to N.L. It will help in creation of new opportunities for businesses and to help businesses recruit more people, earn income and spend there. All this will be instrumental in driving N.L. economy thereby helping N.L. population, he further added.

N.L. Wait times to be reduced by half—N.L. wait times shall get reduced by almost half under the new proposal. The agreement contains a commitment by the federal government for processing the applications in six months or even lesser. This means reduction of N.L. wait times by nearly half. That’s quite wonderful. Isn’t it?

In N.L., there are several jobs that are not getting filled up by the local workforce despite a downturn currently in oil markets. Several other businesses are growing and several skills are in great demand in N.L., Davis said.

So, N.L. is seeking people with skills in high demand now. N.L. will be offering first entry to such skilled immigrants on a first-come first-serve basis. N.L. needs foreigners to come here. So, the message is quite clear by N.L. to foreign skilled workers. It is ready to welcome more economic immigrants having skills needed by this Canadian province.

That’s certainly a great news for employers as well as potential employees wanting to work in N.L.
