US Visa System To be Offline Until Next Week

United States, 18th June: The US Visa system has hit a technical snag and it will be offline until next week.

As a result, the US visa aspirants will have to wait longer for getting US visas the world over.

US Visa system halted due to a technical issue—A technical glitch has forced the US visa system to remain offline at least for one week. This problem is going to be faced by the US visa aspirants the world over.

A hardware failure has led to stoppage of US visas from getting issued at different American embassies. It is quite unlikely that the issue may get resolved next week.

Around 200,000 US visa applicants affected–Issuance of US passports and US visas at different US embassies will be affected badly this week or even more. The problem is continuing since 26th May this year.

Although, no exact details are available, but still, at least 200,000 US visa applicants have been affected due to this US visa technical snag. The issue is an unknown hardware failure preventing the US State Department from processing as well as transmission of the biometric data checks at different US embassies and US consulates.

The problem is being attended by nearly 100 engineers from private as well as government sector. These engineers are working to solve the issue, confirmed the official spokesperson of the US State Department John Kirby.

He said that it is quite unlikely that the issue gets resolved before next week despite best efforts the engineers.

US Passport issue resolved—It has been revealed by the US State Department that the US Passport system has been resolved. Hence, the US passport system is working now and the US is issuing US passports abroad once again.

The US State Department has further affirmed that all efforts are being made to make sure the systems become operational fully and the backlog of the pending US visas get cleared.

The US State Department clarified that the technical snag being experienced at the US embassies is not due to any cyber security issues etc. The problem is quite different from the one suffered in the month of July 2014.
