Bhopal — Police claim to have busted a prostitution racket With the arrest of 10 persons, including six girls, during raids at two separate places here.
According to police, the racket was operating under the garb of beauty parlour-cum-massage centres, which were run by a couple living in the posh Idgah Hills locality here. The parlours had separate cabins to carry out the flesh trade.
“The police conducted raids at both places simultaneously. They first sent decoy customers and later barged into the parlours once the deal was struck,” said G.K. Pathak, Additional Superintendent of Police (City).
The police said the girls involved in the trade came from outside Bhopal and were paid a monthly remuneration of about Rs.3,000 while the customers were charged anything between Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000.
Police also seized 10 mobile phones from the arrested persons and Rs.10,000 in cash.
The couple, Shahid Ali and Tarannum, were running the racket in the name of beauty parlours-cum-massage centres ‘Kashish’ and ‘Monica’, said Bhopal Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh.
