single career or varied options ?? ???

so... what do you say? in today,s world when we are facing so much compitition, is it safe to restrict yourself to a single career?
in a single career, one gets into a specialized field, excels himself and gets an opportunity to work out best in the particular field at a more professional ground.
in varied career options, one gets a chance to explore himself, his talents and his abilities. one gets chance to excel in dream field, even if he,s not able to work out due to any personal or other reasons....... even more earning opportunities are there.
so,,, what do we end up with? personally what i would feel ideal, is; everybody gets a chance to perform in life. what is required is to choose a career best suited for him, ofcourse! with personal choices and right guidance. once we get perfection in our professional field, then finding other options and trying to excel in those too,,
but remember...... there must be a GROUND (specialized field) where you could land up professionally... besides having other career options..
