Rains claim 15 lives in Gujarat, people shifted in Nasik, Goa

Ahmedabad:-Heavey downpouring in Gujarat have disrupted the life to much greater extent. For the few days there is a continous rainfall in the entire region, leading to floods and thereby people have to be evacuated to the safer places.
Heavy incessant rains pounded Gujarat claiming 15 lives disrupting normal life and prompting the authorities to issue a high alert across the state as several people were shifted to safer places in Nasik and Goa following downpour.
While three persons each have been killed in rain-related incidents in Ahmedabad and Amerli districts, two each died in Dangs and Surendranagar and one each in Junagadh, Narmada, Patan, Surat and Vadodara districts, Director of Relief Work B N Satya said.
He said more than 6,000 peope living in low-lying areas in various districts have been shifted to safer places.
Rail traffic in Ahmedabad-Mumbai section is moving at a slow pace and normal life in Ahmedabad city came to a complete standstill as roads in many areas were submerged in knee-deep water.
People from 29 villages mainly in Vadodara, Panchmahals and Bharuch districts have been shifted to safer places.
Most schools and colleges in the city also remained closed.
In Nasik, heavy incessant rains continued to lash the city and other parts of Nasik district, flooding almost the entire district.
The district administration have shifted hundreds of people to safer places.
