This detainee is a Libyan man and had been in prison for minor assault and robbery.

The police have informed that this detainee was recaptured in Oxford’s Botanical Gardens, and there he was eating tomatoes. The hunt of police is on for the other three detainees who were arrested as illegal immigrants. Two of them were Palestinian and the other from Afghanistan.

Actually, total seven detainees planned and fled from the detention centre of Campsfield, but three were immediately recaptured. Amongst these three, two were sent back to detention centre and the other to the hospital as he wounded his ankle while escaping.

Senior police officers will discuss the incident with the Border Control Agencies and GEO, who is in charge of running the detention centre. Graham Sutherland of Thames Valley Police has said that GEO and police are aware of the fact as how the detainees escaped but cannot reveal the details. He also said that the task was not at all simple and it was all very well planned.
