The changes in the Canada Immigration Act have finally made its way after facing all the controversies. The most prominent part of the changes brought in is bestowing the power of choosing the skilled migrant workers in the hands of immigration minister, Diana Finley.
Diana Finley, the immigration minister holds the notion that the changes will give a boost to the immigration process. It would make the way clear for the skilled workers who are best required for a particular job, and will keep a check on the backlog. The new changes in the immigration law will be applicable for the application which has come into picture after February 28, 2008. There has been no solution referred to the massive backlog and the long queue of applicants. Regarding the backlog, Finley has conveyed that it would be dealt under the old law and budget bill will provide extra resources to clear the backlog.
The new immigration law has been a subject of critic due to its limitations. The new rules will keep the unskilled workers ever wanting to migrate in Canada. Even in case of skilled workers the option is not all safe, as it might push a skilled worker in backlog whose profession is not in demand. And last but not the least, the migrants who want to live in Canada, the new law will bring all the more complexity and delay.
So, people who wish to migrate to Canada to live or to work must consult a Migration Expert in order to know the type of visa one should apply for, or one can also take visa eligibility test in order to check one’s eligibility for visa.
