A TANTRIK in Mehal Kalam, a village near here, has been booked by police for raping a girl for many months now. The complaint has been registered by the girl’s father.

The girl’s father told the police that when his daughter got pregnant, the tantrik tried to get the foetus aborted. When he failed to do so, he even tried to kill her, alleged the girl’s father.

According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s father, the accused heads a dera near here. The man alleged that his wife was a blind follower of the tantrik and used to take the couple’s 22-year-old daughter to the dera often.

Police have registered a case against the tantrik.
