India to have 40% growth in employment

New Delhi:-Powered by high growth potential of corporate sector the October-December quarter of the current year expects a 40 percent growth in employment in the country.

According to Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, conducted by leading employment services provider Manpower Inc, Indian employers forecast a six percent increase in hiring intentions over the previous quarter, when the employment registered a 34 percent growth.

Hiring expectations of the Indian employers remain the strongest among the 23 countries and territories came under the survey.

Manpower Executive Chairman Soumen Basu said this high growth rate was mainly due to consistent growth registered by the Indian corporate during the few years and also by the robust growth of the economy.

Of the 3,835 employers interviewed, 43 percent said they expect to hire more people during the October-December quarter, three per cent of the employers expect to reduce the work force while 48 percent will retain their present manpower, he said.

The country was on a high growth trajectory and was in the process of effectively enhancing the available pool workforce of high caliber manpower, Basu said.

"Robust hiring activity is expected across all industrial sectors. The greatest hiring expectations were reported from the services sector with 45 percent."

Finance, insurance and real estate sector as well as public administration and educational sector will register 43 per cent growth in employment, while mining and construction firms are planning for 39 percent growth, he added.
