Ludhiana: Ludhiana Police have seized 900 grams of heroin and 200 grams of smack worth 1 crore rupees and arrested four persons in this regard.

“The supply was in the city. Now the accoused are going to be kept in remand. We are going to investigate them and find out the other links. Since they have been caught in the city they must be supplying the material here only�, says Gurprit Singh Ture, Superintendent of Police (Detective) Ludhiana.

The arrested are from Haryana and Bihar. The heroin was coming from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh meant for sale in Ludhiana, the police said.

“This is the first time I did some dirty business and in the first go only got caught. We were given rupees 2 lakh for the whole business of getting the drugs to Ludhiana and selling it�, said Anil Kumar, an accused.

The police is however, not celebrating its success.

“It is not a success story but a serious issue. So many narcotics have got caught. It is highly depressing to know that it was planned to be sold here. It is disheartening to know that we have so many drug addicts. Parents should take more care considering so much amount of drugs are present in the city�, said Gurprit Singh Ture.
