According to some official documents obtained by Richard Kurland, an immigration analyst from Vancouver, almost one-third of immigration applications filed by entrepreneurs from Hong Kong are being consistently rejected by Canada amidst concerns of fraud.
While there has been a decrease in immigration from Hong Kong to Canada in the past few years, there has been considerable inflow from mainland China that comes via Hong Kong. It has been observed that close to 90 percent of the applications that are screened in Hong Kong are from actually from mainland China originated people.
Kurland noted that only eight percent of applicants for investor immigrants, who give direct cash payment for their visa, were put in the league of those containing fake information or forged documents. But when it came to entrepreneur category, which grants citizenship on the basis of the promise of the entrepreneur to start a business, as many as thirty percent were tagged as containing fake information or invalid documents.
Kurland said that when it comes to investor class, it is very neat. But the entrepreneurs do not have enough resources to be an investor immigrant. However, they do have sufficient money to get for themselves fake documents and they are committed to do so especially as all kind of documents are available nowadays.
Kurland said that when things don’t go their way, they lose what they paid for those documents, but when it clicks, they get the opportunity to come to Canada.
Another report reveled in London that many applicants are forced to turn to some other place due to the long processing time. The report said that many applicants who withdraw their applications are similar to the strongest applicants, and it is quite understandable that these highly qualified candidates are not willing to wait in a competitive market.
The report also noted that in comparison to this, the UK sends more than 23,000 immigrants to Australia every year, which is almost thrice of the total of Canada.
Kurland said that these multi-year waits are hurting very bad and as a result of this, Canada is losing the best talents in the global competition.
Lastly, the report noted high rate of fraud in Chandigarh, India, which resulted in a high rate of application refusal. Such high rates of rejection made angry applicants to demand the reason for such rejections. As a result of this, even old documents are being stored now.
