Britain has approved TOEFL test for assessing the eligibility for immigration in United Kingdom's new immigration Points-Based System. Previous month, TOEIC test too was recognized by UK.
Prior to this only IELTS test was recognized for immigration purposes. A record 6.2 million people worldwide registered for these exams in 2007. This test is accepted by more than 6,000 colleges and universities in 110 countries.
English language sill is one of the important elements to assess the eligibility of a person for immigration. Other important elements are aptitude, experience, age and level of need in any given sector. The TOEFL test will be used to certify highly skilled immigrants, particularly those in medicine, science and business.
