The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Diane Finley announced details of the Canadian Experience Class, a new avenue that is proposed for immigration for certain temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates that have Canadian work experience.
The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Diane Finley announced details of the Canadian Experience Class, a new avenue that is proposed for immigration for certain temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates that have Canadian work experience. Different from all other existing programs, this proposal would consider an applicants Canadian experience as a key factor for selection while migrating to Canada.
The Canadian Experience Class would benefit certain temporary foreign workers and certain foreign student graduates with managerial professional or trade experience in the way that it would enable them to apply for becoming permanent residents of Canada and eventually Canadian citizens. However, all he applicants will be required to demonstrate either basic or moderate language skills based upon their occupational skill level. These proposed changes have been published in the Canada Gazette and been assigned with a 15-day comment period. Final authoritarian changes will be published after the comment period is over.
Minister Finley said that The Canadian Experience Class is yet another measure that this government is proposing that will make the Canadian immigration system look more attractive and will be accessible to individual with diverse skills from around the world and this will be better for the Canada’s labour market needs. She also said that the new proposal will also enable smaller centres across Canada to avail the benefits of immigration.
The Canadian Experience Class is yet another initiative taken by the government to make Canada a more attractive destination for all the skilled individuals from around the world. The earlier initiative taken by the government include changes to the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program, increased and fresh investments in language training for the immigrants, establishment of Foreign Credentials Referral Office, along with several other programs that help the newcomers efficiently settle and integrate into their new communities.
While going through a flawless social and economic transition to Canada, the new immigrants will be more likely to explore their abilities in a better way through the Canadian Experience Class. And as a result of this, the cultural and economic contributions of these immigrants will enrich Canada.
Minister Finley said that choosing the immigrants based on the knowledge of Canadian labour market and experience within the Canadian society will make Canada a more attractive place for skilled workers from around the globe. She added that skilled workers and international students will choose Canada as their destination if they are aware of the fact that they their time in Canada and contribution to the Canadian society would help them seek permanent residency.
