Teenager jumps off from court premises

New Delhi -- An 18-year-old girl Thursday jumped from the third floor of a court building in northwest Delhi and sustained injuries, police said.

Mamta Devi had sustained six fractures and was being treated at a private hospital.

After Mamta had married Lal Babu against her parents' wishes on Sep 5 in a temple, her father filed a police complaint against her husband Sep 20 accusing him of enticing his daughter for marriage.

Police said that the couple had come to file for an anticipatory bail in the court but the judge asked Mamta to return to her father's house.

Disappointed by the court's direction, she jumped from the third storey of the Rohini court premises in northwest Delhi.
