New Delhi -- Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Friday said it will expand its operations in China with the increase of its headcount from 500 to 4,000 in the next three to five years, said CEO and Managing Director S. Ramadorai.
The $2.97 billion group Thursday signed an agreement with Microsoft at the Indo-China business forum presided by Chinese President Hu Jintao in Mumbai.
"We are looking forward to using Microsoft as a platform to effectively service the Chinese market," Ramadorai told reporters on the sidelines of a press conference here.
The company Friday launched a Talent Transformation initiative, which aims to transform science graduates into software professionals who will undergo training for seven months.
"In India we are planning to recruit 2,000-3,000 science graduates by this academic session. We are planning to recruit only science graduates with a good mathematics background," he said.
