The aim for the introduction of a new Canadian immigration policy is to stop the application backlog.
However, as the current situation stands, the backlog is bound to increase even more as the government brigs an abrupt halt in the visa process. Canadian parliament has recently passed a new policy in respect of dealing with new visas. This policy will target for the fulfillment of such shortages in skills that are hampering the growth and development of the country. The new law gives all the right to Diane Finley, the immigration minister to take preferential decision in favour of country while accepting any application.
However, at this point of time, which type of applications will be accepted is still not known. Therefore, the applications submitted since February 26are put on hold. Due to this hold in accessing applications, the current backlog of applications, which is around 900,000 has been estimated to increase by another 90,000.
All this will not only irritate the aspiring immigrants in respect of the lengthy time involved in processing, but the money factor is vital concern for the immigrants. The applicant will definitely get a refund of the processing fee from the government in the rejection. But other expenses like money involved in case of consultants and likewise, is seldom refunded.
The immigration policy will target people with skills, which are in demand for the country. Preferences in case of such an applicant will be favoured, and the visa processing time might take around six months.
