The Orchid Society of India will organise a national seminar at ICSSR Complex, Panjab University, Chandigarh, from March 18 to 20.
An orchid show based on selected species and hybrids, photographs, paintings and literature will be part of the three-day event.
An on-the-spot painting competition, open for all schoolchildren in the age group of 5 to 15, will be an added attraction on March 19.
Dr V.P. Kamboj, President of the National Academy of Sciences, will deliver the inaugural address, Dr M. Sanjappa, Director of the Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata, will deliver the keynote address while Dr Manju Sharma, a former Secretary, DBT, will preside over the event.
