Kate Beckinsale to star in thriller

London -- British actress Kate Beckinsale is to star in a thriller titled "Whiteout" set in Antarctica.

The actress will play a US marshal in the film based on an award-winning graphic novel by Greg Rucka, reports ananova.com.

In the film, Beckinsale's character is sent to Antarctica to investigate the continent's first murder. She has three days to solve the crime before the continent is plunged into winter and she is stuck with the killer.
