India's CICO Technologies wins International Star Award
New Delhi -- CICO Technologies Ltd, one of India's leading construction chemicals firms, has been conferred the prestigious International Star Award 2006 in Geneva.
A Rs.400 million group, CICO Technologies manufactures a range of construction chemicals and allied products.
"The award is a proof of our achievements in the industry and we will continue to deliver the best in the times to come," Amit Gupta, chairman and managing director, CICO Technologies, told IANS.
The company commands a market share of 30 percent and is involved in the construction of some projects, such as, Delhi Metro, Nathpa Jhakri Power Project, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Unitech, Omaxe, DLF, Parliament Library and many other.
CICO Technologies is targeting a turnover of Rs.1.5 billion for the financial year 2006-07 by venturing into retail products like stick-on adhesives and industrial floorings for the food and pharmaceutical companies.
The group is rapidly expanding in the neighbouring markets of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives and Qatar.
India's leading international telecom giant Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) also won the award.
The event, held in Geneva over the weekend, was presided over by the president and chief executive of Business Initiative Directions (BID), Jose E. Prieto, and it has made its presence in 173 countries by creating a platform for the implementation of an integral quality process through technology.
The main purpose of the 31st International Star Award was to recognize the companies which are committed to quality and are involved in activities covering industrial production and services.
