Dubai -- An Indian killed his wife and two-year-old daughter before jumping to death from the family's 10th floor apartment in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Police said Kumar Acharya Vasudevan, 33, from Mumbai, first strangled his 32-year-old wife with a rope and smothered his little daughter with a pillow as they slept. He then jumped from his apartment window.
Kumar's body was found in a pool of blood Monday in the parking lot of the apartment in the Al Qasimiya area by passers-by, according to Gulf News.
"Kumar left a note written in English, explaining that he had killed his family and committed suicide. The motive is unknown. We do not think that it was financially motivated," said Brig Al Mutawa, chief of Sharjah police.
Kumar was working with Baskin Robbins, a popular ice-cream parlour chain. His wife worked as a receptionist at a company in Dubai.
