Illicit love leads to tonsured head

Itanagar -- A tribal woman allegedly having illicit relationship with a married man in Arunachal Pradesh paid a heavy price when a group of women tonsured her head and assaulted her.

Police said five women dragged the 21-year-old woman from her house in West Siang district this week, shaved her head also beat her up.

"The group was led by the wife of the man who was accused of having an illicit relationship with her," a police official said.

Police arrested three women after the victim lodged a complaint. The three women were remanded to 14 days in police custody.
