Patna -- Family members of freedom fighters in Bihar will soon get special identity cards that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar says will give them "self respect".
"The families of all 9,881 freedom fighters in Bihar will be provided I-cards soon," a source in the home department said.
Early this week, Nitish Kumar announced that the monthly pension of freedom fighters would go up from Rs.430 to Rs.2,000. He said the identity cards would carry no benefits "but would give the families self respect".
