Franz Ferdinand band owe success to food

London -- Rock band Franz Ferdinand say they thank their love for food because the founding members of the band met while working in a kitchen.

According to contactmusic.com, the lead singer Alex Kapranos was working as a chef in a Scottish restaurant and would always discuss his dreams to form a band with the bassist Hardy during breaks.

He says: "I had some of the best moments of my life, just having a laugh in the kitchen. It was really hard work but during prep time Bob and I would listen to music and I think in a way that's where a lot of the ideas for Franz Ferdinand were formed."
