Foreign Affairs warned that criminals claiming to be officers of the Canadian embassy are targeting foreign workers who wish to come to Canada for jobs in hotels and construction.

A government website warned that these criminals are using websites and e-mails to allure workers with offers that the “Canadian Immigration Bureau” provides them a free “Canada Health Certificate” and various jobs at the “Canadian Hotel” or at the “Hotel Omni Mont-Royal”.
It seems that the scam is widening its grips and last June the Canadian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh, issued a warning on its website related to fraud advice. Those immigrants who get caught in their trap are charged from $300 to $600 and the money goes to Gambia, Senegal and other African countries with the help of wire transfer.
The government website clearly warns that the e-mails and span sent to allure these people have domain names that include ‘yahoo’ and ‘hotmail’.
The website states that the Canadian government never uses poor English in their e-mails neither do they request fee payments in US Dollars.
One of the ringleaders apparently uses the name Mrs. C. G. Rose, or Christiana Grand Rose, the website noted.
