Eloped lovers caught in Shimla

Shimla -- A young couple that had eloped from Mussoorie in Uttaranchal was caught in this resort town, said a Himachal Pradesh police official.

After being informed by the Uttaranchal police, the Shimla police swung into action and arrested Manoj Kumar Rawat, 23, and a 16-year-old girl at the inter state bus terminus here late Wednesday.

Their families were against the two marrying, especially since the girl is still a minor.

The Uttaranchal police have been informed about the arrest and both the families are likely to reach here soon, the official said.
