Eight dead, 36 injured in Mathura bus accident

Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh) -- At least eight people belonging to a marriage party were killed and 36 injured when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district.

The accident took place Sunday night near Pani village under Mant police station.

The newly married couple however escaped as they were in a different vehicle.

More than 10 people are said to be in a critical condition.

Police said the bus did not have proper headlights.
