New Delhi -- At least eight people have been arrested here for cricket betting, police said Thursday.
According to Delhi Police, two betting rackets involving eight people were busted during the last of the four West Indies-India one-day matches in Vadodara Wednesday.
In the first incident, three people - Hemant Kumar, Atul Kumar and Ajay Sharma - were arrested from Shahdara in east Delhi. The betting racket was worth Rs.1 million.
"We seized eight mobiles, a TV set, a laptop and an electronic notepad from the three," a police official said.
In the second incident, Krishna Kumar Yadav, Lakhwinder, Raj, Anil and Dharmendra were arrested. Four mobile phones and one TV set were recovered from them.
India defeated the West Indies by 160 runs at Vadodara to win the series 3-1.
